Alzheimer Wandering Registry
People with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias sometimes lose the ability to recognize familiar places, to communicate or to remember their own name or address. They may leave home, become confused and get lost.
Safely Home™ is a national program designed to help find the person who is lost and assist in a safe return home.
Registration is voluntary and for a one-time fee registrants receive an identification bracelet and wallet card. Both have the persons registration number which is linked to the Canadian Police Information Centre. The staff of the Alzheimer Society Elgin-St. Thomas can assist with the application process.
